We were visited by our first crow! Footage here. Now it'll probably be a while before there's any meaningful update. Interesting that he seems to be putting the peanuts in his claws? Perhaps it was to eat them on site?

Awesome!  Would be interesting to collect some data:
-- how many birds visit
-- the amount of time the birds spend on the box.
-- whether peanuts are consumed there or not.

Good point. Maybe I'll keep a spreadsheet. Our camera is a tad inconsistent, and squirrels do keep trying to grab onto it to climb onto the box, but the data should still be pretty decent.

If you do keep a spreadsheet please share it - I’d be super curious to hear how the rest of the group sees the outcomes compare!

Will do. We put out baked cheese treats, nothing happened for a day, and then bam, 6 crow visits in two hours. Here's the first one enthusiastically chomping down everything he can manage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7Zi_aFZxzg

It only took two trips for all of the cheese snacks to be gone- next four were for peanuts. Way more effective at attracting crows than I could have guessed. Though, I do think our visitor was the same each time. Hopefully he'll bring his family and friends soon.

Brilliant! Esp. useful to confirm that the baked cheese treats continue to prove effective... Keep us posted, and thanks so much for sharing the footage!!
