Hello fellow cyclists and friends of Steve Hart,
On behalf of the LapDogs Cycling Club, we would like to invite you to our Annual Tour de Hart, a celebration of Steve (our dear friend and gentle giant) and honour his contributions to our cycling community, our club and our sport.
We will be rolling out from High Park on the morning of September 4th, riding through Milton to Cafe Domestique in Dundas in which the LDCC has made arrangements for lunch and refreshments for all participants. (this is n/c, the Club will be picking up there tab)
Given this is an LDCC event, sanctioned by Ontario Cycling, it is very important that all who participate also be members of Ontario Cycling or an Ontario Cycling affiliated Club / Team. If you are not currently affiliated with an Ontario Cycling group, have no fear, will make arrangements to get appropriate waiver information to you.
To lock in numbers and "register" participants, we will be using our LDCC Cycling Club App. Once you have sent us your RSVP, expect an invitation to this APP within 24 to 48 hours. It is very important that all participants on this ride indicate their attendance on the APP. If you show up at the ride and you are not properly registered, you cannot participate.
RSVP, no later than August 30th, so we can inform Cafe Domestique of numbers for lunch.
To RSVP:
- Reply to this email
- Let us know your Ontario Cycling or Club/Team Affiliation
- If not affiliated, let us know and we'll provide you with waiver information
- Deadline to RSVP is August 30th, 6pm
Very important.... this is not a Race. This is a ride in honour of our fallen comrade in which we want to get everyone to Dundas together. Be prepared for an approximate 140k round trip. After lunch, we may open things up and break the group into a collection of smaller packs in which speeds may vary depending on the make-up of each group. For those who only want to join as far as Dundas, the GO Train back is a good option (a few club members will be doing this).
Once back in Toronto, some LDCC folks will be heading to Bandit Brewery to raise a glass for Steve. Feel free to join in.
We look forward to riding with you on September 4th. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact myself of Barry Cox.
