Hello all - I have some devastating news to share - on Joyce's list, yet....
I got the following email from Joyce's ukelele-playing friend, Linda.
This just happened just last night, August 3.
Dear Monday Ukulele Group,
I got some very sad news this morning. Our friend and faithful ukulele group member, Joyce Clyde, passed away last night.
She was playing ukulele with us yesterday afternoon! Then she attended part of our slow exercise class at the senior center, and I gave her a ride home. We talked in my car for probably 45 minutes (as usual). She was saying how tired she was after a week of hard work, helping to set up and run the evening “kafana” (snack shop) at Stockton/Santa Clara Folk Dance Camp. (And she went to the dance classes and parties, when she had time!). She was also looking forward to traveling to the East Coast in a few days to visit a friend, attend another one or two dance camps, and then visit her sister in Idaho...

Later Monday evening, her husband found her. A cause hasn't been found that I know of.
I am hoping that someone will post celebration-of-life plans when they materialize (none yet that I"m aware of). I feel like people would flock from all over the world to such a memorial if they could.
Heartbroken,
Jill
PS I hope someone posts some nice photos of Joyce. THe only ones I can find right now are either where she looks tiny in a huge group, or has a Covid mask, etc.
