Hello everyone.

I know that there is a difference between Raw SINR vs Effective SINR calculations  in 5G LENA.

And this is due to some processing happening like beamforming...
However I'd like to know, how is the effective SINR calculated different from one channel model to another?

Thank you in advance

There is only one beta table used for all channel models.  It is derived from link simulations of "A collection of LOS (TDL-D) and NLOS (TDL-A) channel models ranging in delay spread from 30 ns to 316 ns are used. For NR, subcarrier spacing (SCS) of 30 kHz and 60 kHz are simulated."  ... "The calibration is done over all the different channel realizations (represented by the set ζ) of the chosen channel models mentioned previously and different values of noise variances (represented by the set η)."

See Section III.B of https://arxiv.org/pdf/2001.10309

I am not aware of any studies or data as to how well these beta values fit channel models different from those it was calibrated on.  Beamforming and MIMO processing could also cause some changes (i.e., the goodness of fit of the EESM parameters may also be sensitive to changes in beamforming configuration).

So that means that it doesn't work on situations where the SBS is different than 30 and 60 Khz? Does numerology matter ?

Thank you in advance
