Have any of you received mail this week? I have not received any mail nor have I seen our mail lady.

Anyone have input before I reach out to the Post Office?

Hi Vanessa, Yes, we’ve been having trouble with our mail since early summer. somedays we don’t get any mail, and letters form our family take a long time to arrive.

Glad to hear I am not the only one missing mail. I thought I was going a bit crazy to see my box empty.

Hi guys,

In my former life I was the Public Affairs Officer at the Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum and I learned a *lot* about USPS.

Filing a ticket can’t hurt, but given the current situation across the board with USPS, I wouldn’t expect it to get the attention it deserves.

I suggest also applying heat from a different direction - contact Eleanor Holmes Norton’s office. She has been all over the DC Postmaster’s office about the rampant and widespread delays in DC.

You can also call the Lamond Riggs station to address it directly. You can ask to speak to the postmaster or supervisors in that office about the issues and/or leave a message letting them know you’re calling Eleanor Holmes Norton’s office. The number at Lamond Riggs is 202.523.2041. But, honestly, there is probably very little they can do about it. They don’t have the staffing or the resources. This is the result of a total failure in leadership.

Just chiming in to say that I've seen reports this is a nationwide issue the past couple of weeks, along with suspicions that Postmaster DeJoy has done this intentionally for several reasons.

Yes to what Ian said. It’s another reason to bring it to Eleanor Holmes Norton’s office rather than city council. The crux of the problem is at L’Enfant Plaza, and less at the local post offices, though I still think calling Lamond Riggs is worth doing.

I should have been clear when I said leadership failure, I meant DeJoy.

I’m *really* fighting the urge to go on a USPS history and operations tangent/rant. 😂

Postoffice is understaffed due to Covid and their services are lagging as a result.

We can reach out to USPS by emailing April Jackson (april.l...@usps.gov).
You can also call Lamond Post Office and ask for Ms. Tresa White. She can help ensure individual issues are resolved.
