Hi all I have a 1990s Rondar #8207 which has been brought up to date (not by me) with current rig (new mast, chute, dual poles, high aspect boards etc). Overall everything works great.
The biggest sailing challenge is that the launch tube was sized for the smaller chutes of the past, and now it’s pretty hard to hoist. (Takedowns are fine.) It happens, but only after a struggle.
The boat is currently setup with the rake adjustment running from the forestay inside the launch tube back to the purchase adjuster which is under the deck in front of the mast. There is some friction with the chute inside the tube against this line. Has anyone rigged this line across the top of the deck? Was thinking perhaps it could come back over the deck and then go down to the existing purchase, just to get it out of the tube.
Any thoughts / suggestions from others who have maybe had to do this on an older boat are eagerly solicited!
Cheers
