Cura arc welder

Recently I watch this makers mashup video about the arc welder cura plug-in. https://youtu.be/18uYYXecH5g Other videos show no benefit. . https://youtu.be/PSF-GpJNH9g

I could not make it work thus far. Can you explain to me what this thing does and whether is useful?

I don’t use cura but I assume it is the same as the octoprint plugin of the same name.

It will reduce GCode size for doing arcs by using g2/g3. But it requires recent versions of Marlin to get the most out of it as they did some improvements to g2/g3. 

The ultimate benefits is it stop stuttering and can allow you to print faster, especially with big GCode files.
