Ok, now that things are somewhat cooling down, I would like to bring up an interesting topic that I can guarantee *WILL* have ripple effects in the community.

Cheap 3d printers have been used inside Iran over the past few months to produce weapons.  I hinted at this use a few months ago in firearms topics, but I intentionally and deliberately failed to add any further info.

For some questions on this, like how they got 3D printers and filament in Iran?  That's simple.  China is the largest consumer of Iran's oil. In the China-Iran deal in 2021, on a 25-year deal, it was about supporting the transformation of Iran's economy into something else.  China's investment was barely 27 billion over the last 15 years, and in exchange for their oil, they mostly got cheap Chinese consumer goods flooding their markets and harming their locally made products (sounds familiar yet?), including 3D printers, filament, and other parts.

There was a pretty large effort at the beginning of the Ukraine war to 3D print and ship them drone parts, bomb casings and other things they needed, until they got up to speed with their own manufacturing.
