Which UPS battery backup do you use on your printers?

I've been using Cyberpower CP1000PFCLCD for years but some are getting old. Maybe time to change to something newer / better?

Replace the batteries with lipo equivalents with internal charging control

Jeff - I feel I need to add to what James wrote...

Power UPS have been discussed here before. Problem is - if the power dies Completely - and for an extended period of time - then the UPS is useless. The UPS is generally used for PC's - and then when power in a bldg dies - the UPS gives you time to power down a PC properly. So - if power dies in your place extended - UPS will not help - since they will only supply power for like - maybe - 5-20min!

Secondly - a print that has stopped too long - restarting it is problematic in regards to layer adhesion upon restart - and usually leaves a line on your print job.

But, yeah - for VERY Short power outtages or to protect against power Spikes and Brown Outs - the UPS can be helpful...

A consumer grade UPS is typically designed to work with a PC. It is not designed to continue operating. Rather it’s designed to keep the PC powered while controlling it into a graceful shutdown. If you’re using it to keep your printer printing it had better be a small print!

Yes, small print - OR - a VERY Short Power Outage!

I know my original MakerBot CupCake, when I built it - the power source in it was essentially the same power source as in a PC. Even my Ender - it kinda looks like a PC type power supply.

Thanks Andy for confirming - as I've not used a UPS on a 3DP before, and I figured it's kind of a limited case use case...

I live in Florida. Over the summer there are lots of thunderstorms and enough brief power outages to make a UPS worthwhile. Of course I am not expecting one to fully power a 48 hour print.

Yup, then indeed - a UPS for a Brief outage does indeed make sense!

My 2 cents is I have a power generator ( battery backup about 1100 watts.} which has ups mode and i was able to run my printer and wifi for several hours with no power.
