Hey good people of 3dp
Checking if anyone ordered nozzle or plates or anything 3DP related via Aliexpress or Temu in the last couple of days and got a tariff demand from the carrier of your package.

Even if you have put an order reply on when you ordered and when do you expect to receive it.

I am running an analysis for the sake of the future of our business. Need more data to confirm a few things because the government announcements have been random and actual CBP notices are not yet clear about the rules.

Thanks
V

I stopped ordering from AliExpress seven years ago when I liquidated my biz, which BTW was an electronics store. I can’t imagine trying to run that same biz today with the fees and tariffs we’re hearing about direct via X and not just news sources.

Are you specifically referring to people who live in the US? Because this forum is full of plenty of people who don't.
I've just bought a few things from AliExpress, but I'm in the UK, so only the usual 20% VAT applies.
Estimated delivery 21st April of some steel M8 nozzles, a usb led light, and some cht V6 nozzles

I ordered a few outdoor TV screens last night and the price was still the same as a few months ago. Shipping to US. I have not paid anything more than normal yet. Same with wifi equipment from unifi.

Duties are usually collected by the shipper when you import something. I've paid about 4% on Prusa orders over $800 in the past. They aren't included in pricing unless you buy from US warehouses.

Yep, had containers get stopped in the past and not released until I pay what they claimed was the fee. Had to argue on a few. I have not had anything small like this particular order ever get billed afterwards, will find out. Had people trying to tell me locally that they are already paying the higher cost in the item itself, but I have not yet seen that.

I have about 4 orders from AliExpress in different stages coming in right now. Some already arrived to the airport some are still on the Chinese side. I will report back how it goes when I get them.

From an article in today’s Wall st Journal….
The small-parcel tariff will now fall to 54% from Wednesday, the White House said, while a flat fee of $100 will remain but won’t rise to $200 in June as previously planned.”
