I just noticed this:

It looks like Proforge is offering a 4 Orbiter tool head Tool Changer for $2800.00, November delivery.

I don't know what Prusa charges for a 4 tool head, so I can't tell if this is a good deal or not.

Is it a good deal?
1. It uses a servo or stepper to connect the tool just like the E3d.
Is that bad? No, but it makes the tool heavier and switching slower. As well as more complex… I.e., cabling, powering, etc. Tolerances for the switch are quite a bit tighter Vs the simpler methods we’re seeing since the XL and as such it’s not as reliable.
2. It has an inductive sensor for its probe. IME these are less reliable than a simple hard switch like an omron.
3. $2800? I assume four tools. Yeah. Good deal. The E3d with four tools was $4k

No, I had not noticed it until you pointed it out.

That seems like a very reasonable way for the rest of us to get into a tool changer.

They seem to have a Kickstarter going for a smaller 3 tool changer for under a grand

Does anyone on this forum own the Proforge 4 since the kickstarter last year?  (as previously mentioned if you purchase the 4.2 now you gotta wait till november to get it)

I saw them (makertech) at TCT 3sixty this year, where they had the 4 toolchanger on display. Unfortunately the guy scheduled to man the stand was off and there was someone standing in who wasnt really able to answer any of my questions (to my satisfaction) in any great detail.

I'm keen to know more about this 3D printer, so if anyone has one, has pre-ordered one, or knows anyone with one - please share.

Careful. The three reward packages that they show include just one print head.
