It sure is FAST - but, alas - the little boat paid the price. The Benchy kinda looks like Crap!

That thing is hawlin' ... how does the extruder keep up?

That's the problem - as they guy reviewed the Benchy - the extruder is NOT keeping up! It seems to show that only longer extrusions - it can't keep up with proper plastic flow - based upon all the top flat surface areas.

I wonder what the actual upper bound of speed with that particular Voron is with decent quality.

When you get over 150mm/s the effects on the momentum on the extruded liquid material starts to show. There's no way one can control that beyond making your layer height very small which in turn increases print time.

Well, I went down a bit of a rabbit hole.

found this guy and his new(ish) corexy machine dubbed the VZ-Bot. He has modified an old Tronxy into an amazing machine. The newest stuff on it is the most compelling... he strapped BLDC motors to it and is controlling them with an o-drive board.

I really want to find out more. That is, this guy is printing TPU at 200mm/s and is printing PETG at 700mm/s!!!!!

That is nuts! There is some artifacts at lower speeds believe it or not... definitely something to do with the polarity switching in the motor drivers. Very exciting times for these new corexy machine...

Looked interesting. Too bad there's so little out there about it. The most I could find was a bunch of stuff on GrabCAD and a closed Facebook page. Not what I would call well-supported.

Note... In one of his vids it shows the printer is bolted to the wall at the top on the left side.
