Must be. The advancement to get to 4 nozzle single tool head is bonkers. Expensive video for an Apr Fools, but then again with AI now peeps can make anything look real / high qual.

I just finished listening to the podcast. Not sure if I shared this before - in regards to Kicking an Old Machine to the Curb. But, a buddy of mine from Essentium days - as operations shut down - and the co. was clearing things out - the last existing employees got to take old stuff. One thing my buddy Peter grabbed up was an old UltiMaker printer. But, sadly - I guess he never got it back up and running - and this is what he finally did with it - at a Dump near him in SoCal:

Such a sad way for that 3DP to go...

I also forgot to mention. In regards to the Elegoo Mess you guys discussed. Obviously you recorded the segment probably a couple MONTHS before they DID indeed release the Elegoo Canvas for the CC1. Which really changes things - and kinda makes what you spoke about as old news - since things did indeed change.

In the end - I will STICK by my original reasoning of getting the CC1 - based upon the original promise of the Canvas - since, in the end - they have Delivered. I'm VERY Much looking forwards to getting my Canvas!

I'm relistening to the "Paint vs. Part" segment right now - and I needed to make a follow-up in regards to an Invalid comment in the podcast.

Andy - you state you can ONLY do the modeling of objects with PARTS - if you use a True CAD program - not a Sketching or Sculpting program! That is not Completely true.
Why do I say this???

Programs like Autodesk 3DS Max and Maya - are NOT CAD Programs. True CAD programs are Solid Modelers (thus the name SolidWorks). Where as Max & Maya are Surface Modelers. But, in fact - in Max - I can EXACTLY Model things with Parts  - and I even uploaded an object to the forum here - as a Test for The Other Kurt - it was a Block containing like 3 other objects in it - like a cylinder - but, the Boolean process allowed me to create a perfect Object - with Sub-Parts - that can then EASILY be assigned different colors/filaments/tool heads!

So - yeah - it CAN INDEED Be DONE with a Non-CAD program - even though more Organic programs like Sculptris - that would indeed be problematic!!

Yes Kurt you're right. I do a lot of stuff just in Maya because I've used it for decades and am extremely proficient and fast with it.

Plus, when modeling polygons it's often easier to get exactly the output you want compared to the tessellation output of most CAD programs.

I forgot that you're a Maya guy. You ever go to the SIGGraph conferences? And, if so - you ever attended the Autodesk user group meetings?

I remember that after AD scooped up Maya (I think it was purchased from M$ at the time - as I know Maya changed hands several times) - people were wondering the 2 programs - Max & Maya - would get combined - and then be renamed to Mayax (pronounced like My-Axe!). Crazy times indeed!!!

I totally agree with you - about being comfy in a program - as I've essentially be using Max since 3D Studio for DOS 1.0 - and taught classes in Max, at the college level, part time, for like 10 years - but, starting with 3D Studio 4.0 for DOS in 1996 at Pratt Inst.! Teaching was indeed fun stuff for me!!!
