In case folks were curious about this...

Sadly - it reminds me a bit of the OLO/ONO 3DP KS Campaign...

The device was supposed to ship to me last September - but, there's been multiple delays. AT least they are giving Proper updates - like this one:

Update #12
📦 Shipping Update & Important Notice

SALTGATOR Tech IncCreator
December 18, 2025
Hello everyone,
We know how much you’re looking forward to using your device, and we truly feel the excitement and support you’ve shown throughout this journey. Your patience and trust mean a great deal to our team, and they continue to motivate us to refine and improve the product.

🚚 First Batch Has Arrived in the U.S.
We’re happy to share that the first batch of devices has successfully arrived in the United States.
During transportation, we continued running stability and real-world usage tests to ensure the device performs reliably once it reaches you.
Through this testing, we identified that when heating 20A and 40A hardness liquids, the current heating program may occasionally result in uneven heating, meaning the entire tube may not reach the optimal injection state at the same time. This indicates that the heating program for these hardness levels still has room for improvement.
To ensure a stable and consistent user experience, we’ve decided to continue optimizing this part before releasing it as a standard feature.

🔄 Adjustment to the First Batch Shipping Plan
We understand how eager everyone is to start using the machine, and at the same time, we want to minimize any potential usage risks at this stage. Based on this, we’ve made the following adjustment to the first batch:
👉 First-batch users will receive the device along with 0A liquid
👉 20A / 40A heating programs will not be included as part of the initial usage
👉 20A / 40A liquids will not be shipped in the first batch They will be shipped together with the second batch once the heating program optimization is completed

📦 0A Liquid Shipping Arrangement
· The shipment of 0A liquid is not affected
· If you only backed 20A and 40A liquids, we will include one complimentary bottle of 0A liquid ( 500ml ) for you to experience the machine
· If you already backed 0A liquid, you will also receive one additional 500ml bottle of 0A liquid at no extra cost
After optimization is completed:
· First-batch users will receive a brand-new, optimized device, ensuring everyone ultimately gets the best and most stable version
· All hardness levels of liquid (including 0A / 20A / 40A) will be shipped together, allowing full functionality
· Second-batch shipments will be delayed accordingly, so all users receive optimized and reliable equipment

🔧 Key Optimization Areas (Ongoing)
During testing, we identified several areas that required improvement:
· The base can still be operated when the main unit is not installed
· After heating is completed and the main unit is removed, the base remains powered; placing the unit back overnight may trigger automatic heating (keep-warm mode)
· In the event of an NTC short circuit, the system may display an abnormally high temperature but still enter the heating program
· 20A / 40A liquids may not reach the ideal injection state after heating, causing part of the liquid to be temporarily unusable
We’ve already developed optimization plans for these issues and are actively implementing improvements.
In future updates, we’ll continue to share the status of each item (in progress / optimized / verified) so you can clearly track our progress.

⚙️ Accelerating Optimization
To deliver a more stable and complete device as soon as possible, our team is currently concentrating resources on speeding up optimization and validation, aiming to shorten the overall waiting time as much as we can.

📣 Transparent Communication Going Forward
Starting now, we’ll be posting progress updates every 1–2 weeks on Discord, covering:
Current optimization progress
Completed improvements
Next steps and upcoming plans
You’re welcome to join our Discord community here: 👉 https://discord.gg/7YsyFkQUdT
All major updates will also continue to be shared through Kickstarter, so you won’t miss any important information.

❤️ Thank You for Your Support
We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding during this adjustment period. Our core belief remains the same: delivering a stable, reliable product to every backer is the most responsible choice we can make.
Thank you for your trust and continued support.
We’ll keep pushing forward and won’t let you down.

I guess I wasn't quick enough backing to be in the first batch of units. I have the same updates as you. It seems like a strange problem they are reporting after as much testing as they say they have done.              David

I agree with you, considering how much in prior Updates they have reported all the testing they have done!

Also, I don't think that ANYONE has actually received units yet - not even the "First Batch" folks. And, you will probably receive your unit before me - as I believe you DID back it earlier than me...

TGIF!

Sorry, premature posting.

My weak attempt at humor aside, this is all based on existing diy fishing lure technology.

This is not 3 MIT Polymer experts forming a product and business, like Desktop Metal ( which recently failed)

The liquid polymers they are using are existing fishing lure polymers which have been available for years.

There are already exisiting very high quality injectors for these polymers like the ones made by basstackle.com: https://www.basstackle.com/Hand_injector_p/injector.htm

The polymers are available on the same website.

This 5 year old video demonstrates the tools, materials, and process. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nT2BIF5Y0nk

I don't want to be the skunk at the picnic, but in the that this Kickstarter fails, you will be able to buy proven tools and materials that do the same thing from the sources listed aboce.

DANG Mark - you're trying to Rain on the Parade for me and David...

So Sad...

I honestly do NOT think this campaign will Fail! Unlike the OLO - turned ONO into OH NO!!!

But, that being said - I appreciate the feedback and being enlightened!

A lot of the fishbait stuff is like shore 0, it's so squishy that there aren't many uses for it, except fish bait. The goal of saltgator, as by them, is to also develope higher shore soft plastics in the 20 to 40 range now and higher, 40 to 60 in the future. All of which fdm cannot extrude. This will be a nice extra tool in our toolbox if/when it works out. Or am I missing something?

Hey look! 100 Saltgators available now for just $299!  https://saltgator.com/products/%F0%9F%94%A5-saltgator-limited-coupon-get-50-off-for-just-1-only-100-available

Now I'm not naive to believe that they actually have 100 units.

But this kind of tactic just adds to the general unsavoryness of the offering.

Mark - in regards to your comment of - "But this kind of tactic just adds to the general unsavoryness of the offering." - I do NOT Disagree with you. That is VERY UNCOOL that they would post this SALE - when they have NOT EVEN Delivered the KickStarter units!

WTF?!?!?

My guess - they are having FINANCIAL Problems - and this SALE will help Prop Them Up Financially!!!

Do you Concur???

David - it seems I was VERY WRONG! Seems SOME people have gotten a Unit - but, I'm not SUPER like them:
BlobfishSuperbacker11 days ago

I just received it today but haven't had a chance to use it. First thoughts, it looks and feels sturdy and the parts fit together well. The plunger vent knob seems kind of flimsy, though, so hopefully it holds up. The instructions are easy to read and the included molds look great (though I have no idea how to use the two small parts for the gummy bear and Saltgator logo). It came with extra seals, a screwdriver, and a nozzle cleaner. The packaging is very well done and looks great.

However, the machine is kind of dirty. It has fingerprints all over it, some sort of white powder residue on the plunger part, the inside chamber looks greasy (unless that's normal?), and the silver part on the front with the logo has a chip out of it. Except for the chipped logo, this is easily fixable by wiping it down.

I am missing the 3 extra nozzles and the 20A and 40A materials, are those being shipped later?
