In much older episodes of the Podcast - Andy has indeed spoken
about Spools that you can print - and they lock together.
I should Really check out these Banbu guys.
But - I'm glad to see you bring this up again. I was just thinking
- if somehow we got Thousands of Hobby Level 3DP folks to sign a
petitition and PUSH the Filament makers to STOP selling plastic
Spools - maybe we can FINALLY Make a positive impact on this
problem.
I say this, because MANY Years ago, the Maya 3D software was NOT
available for Mac computers. Then, folks did a Big petition - and
Autodesk gave in and produced a Mac version. So - Petitions CAN
Indeed at times WORK!
Its just a thought...

I heard in the last show I listened to that filaments.ca did not have the refills that were on the cardboard tube core anymore.Well, that is the only way Banbu Lab is selling filament is on the cardboard tube cores. They will fit the same spool the old filaments.ca refills did. Bambu Lab also will sell you a spool, but there are also spools you can print out yourself. The Bambu Lab spool uses a 1/4 turn to lock or unlock. The prices are reasonable.
