3D printed on a powder bed.  The video is mostly marketing fluff, but they include aspects of design, and video of parts of the printing process.

This is a one-of-a-kind prototype.  It might bounce like a regular ball, but I imagine it flies somewhat differently.

You can see at 32 seconds that on the whiteboard, they at least are thinking about the trajectory. Which, I agree, would be not be the same, since the different geometry would result in a different air drag.

Similar to the airless tire designs, of which there are many on Thingiverse. I hope someone from the grassroots creates a public domain design that people can try.

OMG - its a reply from Darrell! COOL! At least he is not Lurking like Mr. Newman!!! Ha ha ha...

So - recently - a buddy of mine from NY sent me the link on this on FB. And, am not always active on FB. So, I finally looked at the link - and watched the video. Its WILD Stuff. And, yeah - I took the opportunity to call my buddy and talk about it - and Rave about how, HELL Yeah - Math in 3D Design has the ability to solve problems and make something like this BBall possible!!!

IN the end - I was gonna post about this BBall here - but, alas - Neil beat me to it! Good job SIR!!!

But, yes, in the end - I'm Thrilled about something like this - proving that Math and 3DP's can do COOL Stuff like this! And, I know its only a Prototype - but, it would be cool if the co. kept testing this Ball Scenario - and proved it could work - and again prove how UTTERLY COOL that 3D Printing is - so that Masses can KNOW what WE Already know!!!

OK - time for me to go back to sleep...
