Hi!

I'm planning to collect a number of poems from Female Poets only --it'll be our 2nd book after 'Fifty-six Female Voices of Contemporary Poetry.'

For such a book, I'm going to pick 3 to 5 poems from each poetess (please, do NOT send more than 5 poems!).

If you like the idea, send your unpublished poems to the OLD Group/Forum "Women & Society"

Any topic is accepted, but at least 1 (out of the three / five poems) has to be about "the female condition"

Since only the registered poetesses can submit their poems to the Forum, you need to ask for registration to the Group:

Greetings from Ethiopia

Thank you for taking the cause of women in to consideration.It is a good idea.

But it must be known that it is not only females that uphold the cause of women.

Authors like Maxim Gorky are well known in portraying women in rosy color and fighting gender discrimination

Google and read Gorky's Let Us Praise a Mother short story in his books Tales of Italy.

The feminist literary criticism also supports that.I did take the course.Women's cause could not hit target single handed.It has to be backed by positive or even minded and forward looking male counterparts.

I understand your intention is to see things from a different(untouched) perspective.

Optionally,male poets in our group could participate translating the poems of poetesses in their respective country.This way the book could echo the voice of women in the dark.

What do you say?

Answering a question I got:

Yes, obviously you can submit just 1 poem, if you prefer so.

It's up to you to decide on the number of poems to submit (from 1 to 5 -- but no more than 5!).

At least 1 of the poems must be about the so called "female condition" (in your community, your country, or in the world); therefore, if you choose to send just 1 poem, it must be on the 'female condition' theme.

As you know, this project is restricted to female poets.

Yet, I need to make clear that "gender identity" refers to a person’s internal reality of being female or male or something else. Therefore, transgender persons who have the internal sense of being FEMALE, are considered such in our Group.
For us, all persons are equal: gender identity, gender expression or gender behavior is not an issue!
