Hi,

Can we now export quicktimes from 64bit Soft?

Thanks,

Adam.

Not sure if the FXtree can, but I know viewport captures in 64bit can
now export .mov files. It's in the "What's New" list for 2012.

Mpeg4 seems to work just fine. I can't get H.264 to work reliably at all though, it mostly fails after 1 frame, and if I don't choose a new name for the capture, it gives the 'failed to initialise file path' error, no matter whether I'm trying to save locally or on the network.

H264 is a codec that support frame reordering decompression. This feature can't work easily in a capture as not all the frames are not on disk yet.
I think that's why it is not supported.

Cheers

Guillaume

Also, H.264 only supports resolutions of even numbers.

Yes but h264 codec doesn’t work (here)
Not sure why capturing always jumps to last frame before it starts capturing?

You can. Plus, you get some bonus features, like Apple Gamma™.

It seems that when you select H264 as the codec, frame reordering is
switched on by default and can't be changed in the encoder UI. When
capturing, B-frames can't be written as they are calculated from the
next / previous frame. Since the next frame is not available the
capture aborts. If the frame reordering flag was exposed in the
encoder UI we would be able to switch it off and write H264 QTs. Bear
in mind that with frame reordering switched off the encoded files
would be larger in size.
