I'm adding a heated bed to my Duo and I need to upgrade my firmware.  Has anyone done a walk-through on how to do it??  Also, does anyone have a link to firmware that will support the heated bed??

Thanks!!

Damn, I did that upgrade and I can't remember how I did it, I remember Sandro helped me sending me the firmware, so the link should be here somewhere in the group. I was lucky enough to get the heat bed and power supply directly from XMachines a few weeks before they closed.

I think I used a software via USB and if something goes wrong the next step was to buy a firmware loader which the information is also in the group.

Please do a search in this group, I remember I got all the steps from here.

Looked around a bit and couldn't find the walk-through. Any help finding it via USB would be a life saver!!!!

I should probably write a walk-through for the current version of Marlin.  I should probably also post my current firmware, but I've hacked my Duo into a single for the sake of build area, so mine is really odd at the moment.

I'll try to get to this in the next couple of days, but life is  full at the moment.

That would be very very helpful.  Still searching through old posts and I can't find any simplified instructions via USB.

Ok, I found the post with instructions and the firmware, it was here in the group. Here is the link to the post, I recommend you to read the entire post so you can see all the explanations, I'll sum up at the bottom and I'll include the firmware Sandro sent me that time and it is the one I'm using.

-Per Sandro instructions

Cura 15.4.6 should be fine.

Cura has an option to upload firmware:

Machine->Install Custom Firmware...

- I use the CURA mentioned above and a Macbook just to follow a successful process made by Sandro, I guess you can do it via Windows but I think you'll need an Arduino driver as stated on the post.

Ugh.  I totally spaced out on doing a newer walk-through.  I should probably also post/push my changes to the standard version of Marlin to support the Lorei longer term.

I'll try to fit it into the busy summer project schedule.
