Starting on Friday, Feb 20th at 11PM UTC, the wxWidgets SVN repository
will be switched to read-only mode. Commits will no longer made to the
wxWidgets SVN repository at that time, and we will begin making
commits directly to the new git repositories instead. The git
repositories hosted at GitHub [1], and Trac [2] (serving as a mirror)
will be the only repositories kept up to date with the latest
development sources from this point forward.

[2] http://trac.wxwidgets.org/browser/git-wxWidgets

The SVN repository will be kept online in read-only mode for the
foreseeable future, allowing plenty of time for outdated links to be
updated, and anyone else dependent on SVN to make the appropriate
changes in order to switch to the new git repositories.

If you run into any issues with this migration, please report them to
this ticket:

Since a lot of people are not familiarized with Git, I think the wiki page HowToSubmitPatches should be updated regarding to the new repository.
I would be the first interested in reading it.

Certainly. It's already on the list of documents that need updated in #15588.

We'll be updating all of them very shortly. Of course, wiki edits and
patches with these updates made by those already familiar with the new
git repos would be welcome too.
