POLICE CAPTURE ARMED MAN
Tear Gas Ends 71/2 Hour Standoff At Downtown Gun Shop

TORONTO - A 23-year-old armed man was captured last night by the Police
Emergency Task Force after a 7 1/2 hour standoff at a downtown gun
shop.
Police sprayed the Yonge Street gun shop with tear gas and entered it
wearing gas masks at 9:45 p.m. They discovered a man in the basement
next to two loaded rifles.
The man, concious and uninjured, was taken to hospital.
"He was hiding in the basement with two armed rifles," Staff-Inspector
Robert Molyneaux told reporters moments after the capture. "We had seen
him moving around the store with weapons and a metal helmet before he
disappeared from our view."
During five hours of negotiations, the man told police he had problems
with his girlfriend and was considering suicide, the police negotiator,
Staff Sergeant Terry Kelly, said. "He was intending to commit suicide."
The man entered Nick's Sport Shop near Wellesley Street at about 2 p.m.
yesterday, where he grabbed a handgun from the shop owner. The staff
and customers fled. Emergency Task Force officers crouched in doorways
on either side of the shop.
Officers working from a command post near a subway station quickly
established communication with the gunman and tried to persuade him to
give himself up. Later, the man's girlfriend and a male friend were
brought in, Detective Sergeant Lou Villani said.
Shortly before 8 p.m., the man ripped out the phone cord and
disappeared from view. Police said they didn't know whether he was
still concious or even alive.
"He could be passed out or he could have passed away," said Staff
Sergeant Mike Sale after contact with the man was lost. "Time is of the
essence now: we must go inside and see how he is."
Before releasing tear gas, police sent a Fox robot into the store. The
machine is operated by the bomb disposal unit and equipped with a video
camera and stun gas. The gas would have been triggered if the robot had
been attacked.
After 15 minutes when the robot had found nothing on the store's first
floor, police sprayed the store with tear gas and sent in Emergency
Task Force officers.
Police identified a man in custody as Chris McKinstry.

Hardly an original thought. Here's three quotes that include
God, universe, and dice to get you started in tracking down
the original comment he plagarized:
Stephen Hawking: Not only does God play dice, but...
he sometimes throws them where they cannot be seen.
Albert Einstein: God does not play dice.
Edward O. Wilson: Darwin's dice have rolled badly for
Earth. The human species is, in a word, an environmental
abnormality. Perhaps a law of evolution is that intelligence
usually extinguishes itself.
Sporadically good?!?! Grab a handful of the words
and enter them in a Google search and you'll end
up with all the simplistic children's rhymes you want
from at least 20 or 30 other people that don't have
the vaguest notion about poetry and verse.

Uh... that goes without saying, doesn't it? He didn't plagarize, he's
obviously doing a play on words on Einsteins famous quote. That's the
thing that makes McKinstry's quote.

plagiarize:
To use and pass off (****the ideas**** or writings of another) as one's own.
To appropriate for use as one's own passages ****or ideas**** from
(another).
To put forth as original to oneself ****the ideas**** or words of another
IOW you dim witted illiterate fick if he's "doing a play on
Einstein's" words then it isn't original or unique...it's simply
plagiarism! Moreover the source was likely Hawking not
Einstein.
It's about as original as saying "all your quotes are belong to us"
instead of "all your bases are belong to us".

But he's *not* passing off others ideas as his own. He knows that you
know what Einstein said, and furthermore, the idea behind Einstein's
quote is vastly different from the idea in McKinstry's or Hawkings
quotes. It's like Hawkings famous phrase on rolling the dice - he
expects you to know Einstein's quote.

Dude, you need to calm down. When someone dare question what you said

McChimp's quote was little more than bad paraphrasing.

Cut him some slack, he's still in mourning... heh.

Look at this:
"God does not play dice." - Albert Einstein.
i.e. The universe is not random.
"Not only does God play dice, but he sometimes throws them where they
cannot be seen." - Stephen Hawking.
i.e. The universe is random, and you can't observe some aspects of
particles.
"The Truth is of course, is the Universe is playing God with
dice..." - McKinstry.
i.e. The universe has generated God-like creations (life) using the
random processes of evolution.
Those are three separate, distinct thoughts. I hold that, yes, even
though McKinstry was a narcissist, and yes, he made overblown claims,
he also had flashes of brilliance and he was probably a pretty
intelligent guy when his emotional problems weren't interfering. He
probably had some pretty serious chemical imbalances that he had to
fight his whole life, and they beat him in the end.
