No login sound in 12.04?

I did a clean install of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS on my laptop. Now, the login sound doesn't come. What to do?

That is as per design. Login sound has been disabled by default in Precise.

I did that but still the sound doesn't come (logged out and logged in again)? I tested the audio. All is fine. this beats me

@Pratyush Have you tried Solution 2 in that post? Try running the command  manually in a terminal, if that doesn't work, you probably need libcanberra (and/or any other canberra-gtk-play related stuff.)

Or, you could make your own login sound! Install mpg123 (or mpg321, or sox libsox-fmt-*) and set your own music file at startup the same way as mentioned in Solution 2 in that link.
