Ffmpeg spits out the following message when transcoding MTS/h264 files from my Panasonic GH1:
[h264 @ 0x12a2310]Too many slices, increase MAX_SLICES and recompile
Not sure what the effect on the output is, but it would be nice if MAX_SLICES could be increased to make the message disappear and ensure proper decoding.

You'd have to recompile ffmpeg, which is quite difficult
