Hey guys,

I'm not sure if everyone knows this, but Aaron has commited suicide. http://tech.mit.edu/V132/N61/swartz.html. I guess web.py is still in good hands with Anand. But any how, RIP.

While I had seen mentions of his name here and there long before, web.py is how Aaron really entered my consciousness years back in '08.  After using web.py on many projects and then becoming aware of his other projects and writings, I became a huge fan.

IMHO, even if web.py was Aaron's only contribution to the world my life still has been enhanced for the better.

This is really sad. RIP Aaron.

I've been building websites with web.py for about 4 years. I hope that this Aaron's legacy won't be abandoned, but rather will continue development to honor his memory.

Besides that I am extremely grateful for Anand's contribution to the framework. He is a great maintainer and it feels web.py is left in a good hands.

by trying to understand how to work with webpy during those 2 last
years, for me Aaron was a huge benefit for the human community over
all his activism. Simple and powerfull, hope we'll continue at our
level to fight for sharing knowledge against other human that want to
keep close their power, just because they are too lazy. All that for
what, we have all the same end, i just hope that if they are something
after death, we'll can chose with who we'll continue next.
Bye and thanks Aaron
