Leslie et al,

So I've looked at the links provided last week, and the state of play seems to be that there have been two primary attempts to get the feature into weblocks: the work Mackram did in 2009, the work that Olexiy did this year, with an addendum to Olexiy's work done by sburson. What is the disposition of the core developers with regard to any of these projects?

Mackram's work was never finished, IIRC. I haven't reviewed Olexiy's work yet.

I will not veto any integration of jQuery work that Scott wants to integrate into mainline.

My BountyOSS site is live with jQuery (Olexiy's version with my fixes) and seems to be working fine.  I am not aware of any application-level incompatibilities.

Still, on the chance that surprises may lurk, perhaps we should leave it in a branch for the moment.  I'll see if I can get the branch set up this weekend.  Once people have had a chance to try it, we can merge it.
