New Google Groups features

FYI, we have enabled a number of the new features Google has recently introduced to the Google Groups web interface, such as:

• Question asker can mark favorite response, which will get displayed at the top of the responses.
• Question responses can be up/down voted.
• "Me too" a question without submitting a separate reply.
• Edit your own posts, so if you make a mistake, you can fix it in place rather than posting a separate correction.
• Mark topic as "no response needed".
• Filter topics based on a number of attributes.

This is in addition to some other recently added features, such as code highlighting, tagging, different post types (question, discussion, announcement), etc.

I encourage you to use the web interface (as opposed to email) to take advantage of these features (that will also keep your email address out of the posts). In the left sidebar, you can keep links to a list of favorite Google Groups, so it's easy to track all your Google Groups in one place.

I think that's great, and one thing that helps me sort out this list and follow what I've commented on are the filters. Just go to filters and select 'all of these' then 'are my discussions' then 'all' and 'apply filter'. That gives me all discussions that I started or replied to. Then to go back, I just have to remember to go to 'filters' then click 'clear all filters'.

There are a lot more tags in the system than those four (they are just the first four in the list). If you start typing something, do you get an autocomplete of other possible tags?

Not on my end, no matter what topic I've written the suggested tags
stay constant.

With your cursor in the tag box, if you start typing any of those, you should get an autocomplete list that narrows down to some subset of the above based on the characters you type. You can then select a tag from the autocomplete list. It seems to work fine when I try it.
