The ribbon cutting for the new non-motorized path on Washtenaw Avenue under US-23 is on Friday, June 7, at 10:00 a.m.  Those participating will meet at the Chili's parking lot in Arborland and will go east along the path.  People can bike or walk.

An agenda for the event is attached.  The Washtenaw Bicycling and Walking Coalition (WBWC) is mentioned on the agenda.

The scheduled speakers are:
-- Ann Arbor Mayor John Hieftje
-- Pittsfield Township Supervisor Mandy Grewal
-- Washtenaw County Commissioner Andy LaBarre
-- Mark Sweeney of the Michigan Department of Transportation
-- Justin Hiller of the Washtenaw Avenue Merchants Association

Attendance by WBWC members and anyone else who can be there is encouraged.  Come to celebrate this large investment in making the area more bikeable and walkable!

-- Larry Deck, WBWC board member
