HI All

the secn firmware is geographic limited i would like to know if you can obtain a link of a km between two nodes. Lastly is it possible to have spud on mesh network consisting nanostation m2 and picostations m2hp.

The secn firmware is fine for a distance of a kilometre between nodes.  There are some minor tweaks you can make to optimise the link.  One kilometre is too far for a generic MP to MP link unless you have configured external antennas.  Ubiquiti point to point devices would be fine too.

spud will work for any secn node that is configured to report to it.  The hardware doesn't make any difference as long as it is running secn and is configured to report to spud

Cheers... Steve

It is not so much the firmware that is geographically limited, it is more about the wifi signal range.

It is quite possible to get 1 km distance between nodes in open and quiet (wifi) spaces with normal antennas, but for longer distances and congested spaces you will to look at more directional antennas or reflectors.
