Hi,

I see on the "MP2 Basic" page
http://store.villagetelco.com/mesh-potatoes/mesh-potato-2-basic.html
that it has "SLIC for VOIP/PCM"

How can that SLIC feature be used in "MP2 Basic" ?
Do we have to attach a FXS port to it ourselves ?

May be the SLIC feature cannot be used in "MP2 Basic" and
it can only be used with "MP2 Phone" ?

Thanks for your help.

Hi Jane,

The SLIC interface is a part of the AR9331 SoC functionality.   It is one of a number of different ways you can communicate with the AR9331 chip.  This is how the FXS chip in the MP2 Phone communicates with the SoC.  More info on the AR9331 can be found at

The SLIC interface is available in the MP2 Basic but it is just an interface.  The MP2 Basic can be upgraded to an MP2 Phone by adding in the FXS subsystem.

Cheers... Steve

Thanks for your quick reply and detailed diagram.

Looks like using that SLIC interface on the MP2 Basic is too much work ...
I shall wait for the MP2 Phone then :)
