The source code of abtnx points to VASmalltalk version 7.5 installations path .... (at least under Linux)

Not just in V8.5, this has been broken since V8.0. There are 2 abtnx files in the zip and, unfortunately, the bad one gets installed after the good one.
If you have your va850_cl.zip file handy, you can extract cd_c/client/base/linux/newimage/abtnx; if you don't, I have attached the Linux abtnx to this posting.
