50MHz UKAC

The 50MHz UKAC contest is tomorrow from 20.00 to 22.30.
I'll be on SSB and CW with 100W to a delta-loop. Not a great antenna but
it seems to work OK and easy to put up.
Have a listen for me.

impossible to hear even local stations. One station, usually S9+ here

The horizontal 6m antenna (an old 4-el. J-beam at about 20ft. AGL) is
currently lashed in a fixed, roughly 015-degrees direction due to the
gales, so I was unable to turn it away from the noise source, which
seems to be pretty much in that direction.

I only managed 4. The best was GI4SNA , but it was a bit of struggle.
Conditions were poor. The delta-loop was only at 5m due to the wind.
I've now got JT6M running, so might try that next time.

contacts, even down to the South-West or up to the North if I'm lucky.
I don't enter contests; they're simply not my scene; but I do like to
come on and give points, and also get more, and much better contacts
distance-wise than I can normally do under flat conditions.
I have never explored computer-generated modes; I'm happy with SSB and
FM for VHF/UHF.

I ought to have done a lot better down here in IO91 but the noise did
