In college in the '90s, I worked as a DJ at an alt. rock station in
Washington state. Eventually, I'd get my own freeform show and be able
to choose my own music, but my freshman year I was stuck with the
station's rotation of obscure indie artists, and though I wouldn't
call myself a fan, I preferred Michelle Shocked's music to a lot of
the garbage I had to play. She had been able to retain a decent chunk
of her mostly liberal audience despite having been "born again" years
ago, so hearing the audio of her San Francisco show was a shock to me.
Seeing her confuse her Twitter followers with nonsense in the days
that followed indicated to me she needed a good shrink. Watching her
on Morgan's sad excuse for a show, I'm more convinced than ever that
something in her brain snapped (possibly several somethings... I'm no
expert). She apologized but she didn't explain herself, and as Morgan
tried to move to his next segment, Shocked basically hung herself with
a live rant that made no sense at all.
And she was wearing a hat, so I cannot speak to the length of her hair.
