Sony leak s--t: Ben Affleck's ancestors...

...sold slaves.  Henry Louis Gates jnr mentioned it to him when they were taping PBS' Finding Your Roots.

The actor wanted that part edited out of the show.  Gates wouldn't do that, "even for Batman," per Peeb rules.

Gates passed the fact along to good friend / Sony honcho Michael Lynton, who told him to honour Ben's wishes.

The discovery steamed, among others, Affleck's right-wing enemies. Gates defended the edit, while the network did likewise for his 'independent editorial judgment.'
