I just pushed on development branch a minimal quickstart template that
can be enabled with --minimal option to quickstart command.
The idea is to have a template that is quick to customize and with
only things that people tend to keep for their own projects.

https://sourceforge.net/p/turbogears2/tg2devtools/ci/b72f6f7c9415bae7c68f415050bec7d99c7114d3/

The advantage of having such a template would be to avoid having
expert people spend time removing things that they do not want from
quickstarted applications being immediately productive while
permitting to expand the default template with things that might be
interesting for new users.

What do you think? Should we keep such a template, or should we avoid
it as it involves some extra maintenance as it might need a little
tuning in the future to keep it on sync with the standard template?

That's a great idea Alessandro.
In my opinion you shoud keep the minimal template.
Thanks

Absolutely. I'll check out how the minimal template looks next week myself. Got some minor housekeeping chores to do for TG now that 2.1.1 is out. Stuff like updating the SF pages, updating wikipedia, etc. Smaller, easier, stuff, but it's still going to take a little bit.

As an added bonus, we have a ticket asking for just such a thing. Make sure to comment on it! :D
