Student Announcements:


Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour this weekend or you will arrive at school one hour too early on Monday!  

Mr. Epic (aka Mr. Wittig) will be taking photo's of TSAS Halloween costumes in the Photo class room today at Lunch. 
11:55 to 12:20.

The Seniors will be selling candy in the Main Lobby today after school. Satisfy your early Halloween cravings with a sweet treat!

Anime Club will meet today at lunch in room 7 and then after school from 3-4:15 for our scheduled October Nightmare viewing.

Speech Team members will meet today after school in Mrs. Hughes's room from 3-4:15 for a run through of all of our pieces.  

Serenade Night 2014 is upon us! Saturday, Nov. 8, from 6 to 9 pm at the Bernsen Center (8th and Boston). Amazing silent auction in the lobby starts at 6 pm, and auditorium doors open for the jazz combo pre-show at 6:30 pm. The big show starts at 7:00, so don't be late! Bring your family and friends, and support the TSAS Music and Arts Departments as they present a night of music with Motown as our centerpiece! Motown appropriate costuming is welcome, especially if you want to take part in our Soul Train Dance line! Tickets go on sale Monday, November 3rd in the main office-- Cost is $10, and will also be available the night of the performance.  All proceeds go to funding Music and Art programs.

Starting today and finishing on November 5, the History Club will be pre-selling poppies in honor of Veterans' Day.  You may purchase your poppy for $1 before school, at lunch, and after school at the table by the gym or in Room 28.  The poppies will be delivered on Veterans' Day--November 11.  Wear your poppy in honor of all veterans with special remembrance for those who served 100 years ago in World War I.  The major hostilities of World War 1 formally ended on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month of 1918, when the Armistice with Germany took effect.  All profits will be given to the Wounded Warrior Project.

KEY CLUB: There is an opportunity to help TOMORROW at the Get Your Rear in Gear race. They are needing help starting at 6 at volunteer booths, registration tents, handing out shirts etc. It is at ORU at 6:00 a.m. If you are interested please sign up online at http://www.volunteerspot.com/group/0746076606#!/show If you have any questions ask Madame Doss or Brady! 

Are you a TSAS student interested in going on an amazing adventure in Europe next July?  Madame Doss and Profe Hahn are traveling to Paris, Biarritz and Barcelona, so reserve your spot now!  Just go to www.explorica.com/Doss-1568   The deadline to enroll will be right before Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November 26th.

Seniors:  Remember to keep checking your names on the diploma list in Room 28.  

Nearly 40 amazing and dedicated students have signed up for the ACT Prep course here at TSAS!  If you are interested in signing up but haven't yet done so, and you are a junior or senior, please stop by room 31 at your earliest convenience to sign up with Mrs. Ingram.  Session dates are Friday, November 21, 6:00-9:00 pm and Saturday, November 22, 11:00 am-2:00 pm.  Please plan on attending both days for the full amount of time, if possible.  You will not want to miss important test-taking strategies! Students who HAVE signed up need a graphing calculator; please check in with Mrs. Ingram ASAP and let her know if you need to borrow one.  She is trying to get an idea of the number of batteries we will need for borrowed calculators.  Thank you!

College Event Updates:
University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma is hosting an event on Saturday, November 1st- USAO open house; 10-2 pm.  To register or for more information: www.usao.edu/future-students


Rogers State University will be hosting Destination RSU on Saturday, November 8th at 9 am. Students may register at www.rsu.edu/destinationrsu. Students will meet current students and faculty, prize give aways, campus tours and informational sessions.

 

 Northwestern Oklahoma State University:  November 8th is Ranger Preview Day on the Alva campus.  Please register with Benjamyn Eastes at bkea...@nwosu.edu or 580-327-8446.  Every senior in attendance will receive a $600.00 scholarship to use for the 2015-2016 school year!


 The University of Central Oklahoma has several events scheduled:  

-October 31st- Homecoming Central Close Up - Attend the HS Senior Day and stay for Homecoming festivities on Friday night and Saturday  

-December 5th- Winterglow Central close up - Attend the HS Senior Day and see how the university partners with the community to celebrate the holidays

Northeastern State University will be hosting Riverhawk Rally on November 15th. This is  a fun event where students will get to tour the campus, meet with the financial aid department, meet faculty, and even go to a football game! Please register online at www.nsuok.edu/RiverHawkRally
