Hi,

The Foundation would like to add a success stories section to the website.
For that, we need your participation to collect them.

Who can submit a success story?
Indeed anyone who has installed or used Tryton in production to
accomplish any kind of tasks. You need to use all the modules indeed
even if you don't use any module but just the framework, it is still
fine, just like if you use a custom user interface instead of the
generic client. But of course, you need to have the rights to make
public this story as the goal is to publish it.

Why submit success stories?
You must see it as a contribution similar to submit a patch or a
translation etc. Indeed submitting one will help the project but also it
will make some advertising for you (as a service supplier of Tryton or
just as a company). So such contribution will help Tryton to gain a
larger audience and a better recognition.

So here is the template to fulfill:

Title
=====

Introduction
------------

Customer: ...
Supplier: ...

...

Background
----------

...

Scope
-----

...

Result
------

...

Please send them at found...@tryton.org
You can also attach images like logo of companies or pictures that help
to understand the story.
If you have questions, you can ask them here by reply.

Note, we will maybe reword some part to provide a unity through all the
stories. But we will send you back the new one for review.
Also the stories will be published if we get at least 4 stories from
different authors. And of course, you can submit more than one success
stories.

Thanks,

Dear Cedric,

Greetings from Gabon (Africa). I just implemented Tryton/GNU Health here in Franceville (Gabon) at the International Center for Medical Research. In addition to the Lab and patient management module,  I set up the Tryton client and the accounting module  as well. If you agree, I am willing to send you a small article on it with pictures. Tryton is a very robust platform. Everything is working very well. I can't emphasize enough the excellent job you guys have done.

Kind regards,

Armand

Hello Cédric,

This is not yet a success story, but I think it will be. As you know, the small business where I work has been in crisis for some time. So much, that I haven't been able to do anything with Tryton. However, I just managed to get some time for this and installed version 4.0 along with zikzakmedia's POS module (I made it work!!!!! YAY). I have been using something else for the POS, and never had the chance to connect it with the rest of the processes in this shop. Now, I will do everything with Tryton, and, hopefully, will have a success story next year. Apologies if this is not what you wanted. I just thought that it could be useful.

    Free software for anyone
    =====

There are many small businesses which cannot pay for equipment, licenses or development of applications. We are one of those. Tryton is the only chance that we have to seriously address the accounting (stock, sales, purchases and assets) and POS requirements that we have in an ERP.
    ------------

    Background
    ----------
There are many ERP applications out there, but none of them were useful for us. Tryton is written in Python. Its structure is simple enough for beginner programmers to understand how it works under the hood and customise as needed. There is a very strong community which is really focused on the concepts of free software and sharing. It is a framework to manage databases which has historically focused on ERP. To us, this means that your database can be customised easily, and that the interface will follow the new structure. That is, you can create new fields for any type of information which you have in your database. Besides, it comes with almost anything that we needed in terms of handling the information of suppliers, customers and products. You can choose what you need from the basic modules (a lot of them) specifically for your needs, plus there is a big number of groups working on new modules which may be also incorporated (freely as in freedom). We know that this is the beginning of our success.
    ...

    Scope
    -----
Small business with need for a functional ERP.

    Result
    ------
    To come.

Legal and Tax Firm Benefits from Tryton's Extensibility
=======================================================

Introduction
------------
Some fields have gained more from the ERP revolution than others.  Law firms have
generally been slow to benefit, due to their unpredictable workflows from
project-to-project.  But, given the right match between a specialized, boutique
firm, and oustanding, bespoke software, it can be possible for the law to enter
the 21st Century.

Background
----------
Advocate Consulting Legal Group, PLLC, is a US law and tax firm that
limits it practice to servicing the general aviation industry.  Tryton has
allowed it to make the jump from relying on multiple, ad-hoc systems (e.g.,
Excel spreadsheets) and manual procedures, to an integrated, specialized
software suite that handles both data collection from customers and internal
task tracking to ensure that work is performed in a timely and accurate manner.

Scope
-----
Advocate's implementation includes a Nereid-based, web-facing client portal,
which helps Advocate's customers meet regulatory recordkeeping requirements, as
well as seamlessly providing Advocate access to the information needed to prepare
these customer's compliance computations.  The installation's other major
component is a task-management system based upon Tryton's standard Project
module.

Tryton's extensibilty has been the key to meeting this company's idosyncratic
needs.  Whatever the requirement, it is never a matter of, "Tryton can't do
that."  If it doesn't exist, just write it.  At every stage where a standard module's
pre-made solution has not fit the company's needs, a modification path has been
available.

Result
------
Advocate adopted Tryton in late 2012, and the software improves with each
passing year.  Tryton's Open Source nature puts the company in the driver's seat.
No lock-in to a proprietary framework.

Advocate is a 30-employee firm based in Florida, and routinely services over a
thousand clients.  Tryton has helped make its work more accurate, reliable and
robust.
