Hi,

I'm investigating the purchase process in Tryton, and have some questions.

First I want to get a quotation for a product from a supplier. It seems that I
have to create a draft purchase first, which is then converted into a Quote.
- What is the 'draft PO' good for?
- On the quote I send out, why is there already a product price on it? Usually
you ask the supplier what the price is....

In the status 'quotation' of the PO, how can i change the price on the product
lines? Usually the supplier comes back with a different price, plus maybe
additional charges which I need to add. That seems not to be possible.

When I change the status to 'confirm', I dont have the option to add lines or
change the price as well. So how can I add changed rates before I finally buy?

Can I revert the 'confirmation' to status 'quotation'?

Thanks
Axel

For draft.

No, usually you already get an good idea of the cost price of your
products.

Go back to draft and edit it.

Don't confirm the order until it is not right.

No, you have to cancel it and re-do a new one.

OK. But usually the PO process starts with a Request for quotation. so I feel
this step is somewhat unecessary.

Sure, *I* have an idea, but wont tell my supplier about it. Never seen a Biz
so far that asks for a quote with price included.
What is the best way to get rid of the price columns? In the odt Document?

Academically right, but not a real life scenario. People make mistakes (Oh
Shit, I forgot to change the price on line 20),and forcing them to reenter the
whole story again would definitely not increase the confidentiality into the
ERP system, nor is it efficient.

See above. IHMO this is a design flaw.

So how do you make the difference between quotation ready to be send and
those work in progress?

If you want.

To get until this step, there are already many validation that happens
so it should be unlikly that there are still mistakes.
But any way, it is a very difficult things to do but patch is welcome.

Patch is welcome.

Just have it saved. All activities (like 'Send to Supplier') should appear in
the activity log of that PO.

Any better proposal?

As soon as I learn programming in Python, I will supply a patch. Until then
I'm happy to support you with functional design and some experience from
various industries.

Cheers

That's wrong, saving should never have more meaning than just save.

There is no such things in Tryton.
