In Tryton, you can define the purchase prices in different currencies.
(See Product Supplier form).
And of course the currency of a purchase must be defined on the purchase
order (not hidden in the price list).
The only weak point, for me, is about the generation of purchase order
from purchase request (based on the order point and stock level). In
fact, this process always generate a purchase order in the currency of
the company. But it should be not too difficult to change this to use a
default currency defined on the supplier.

I am not knowledgeable enough in the Tryton multi-currency
implementation to be of any help without reading the code.

Back in the beginning of OpenERP there was not even a code repository
accessible to the community so they are getting better ;)

But what are the chances that OpenERP SA get more transparent, I have
no idea, it's a decision that only the OpenERP company can make.

The Tryton project is organized differently, it started as a fork of
OpenERP by B2CK with the goal of being a community driven project. To
further enforce this the Tryton Foundation has been created a month
ago (http://foundation.tryton.org/). Let me quote a part of the
website:

The Tryton Foundation:

* aims to develop and support conferences, meetings and community
activities,
* holds and administers the tryton.org infrastructure
* organizes the community of supporters,
* manages and promotes the Tryton trademark

The board is not managed by only one company, there is 7 different
people representing 5 companies and 3 continents.

Bugs are filled in on http://bugs.tryton.org/ and they are not hidden
from anyone (except security bugs which must obviously be handled in a
private way).

But of course, filling bug does not mean that they will not be marked
as invalid because, either they are not relevant or do not match they
way the software has been designed.

You also have to acknowledge the fact that the bugs in the Tryton
bugtracker are to be managed by the community, it means that you might
never get a reply (it's very unlikely though). The best way to have
the insurance that your problems will be taken care of by Tryton
specialists is to ask the help from people selling Tryton service
(http://www.tryton.org/fr/services.html).

I hope this reply will help you having a clearer view of the
differences between OpenERP and Tryton.
