Notice to cyclist/ride leaders in SE Guilford County: Thacker Dairy Bridge out

Hey just wanted to let everyone know that rides in the South East portion of the county that the state has closed Thacker Dairy road. It is closed south of Wild Turkey intersection and north of the Old Julian/Thacker Dairy intersection. I decided to ride on it on Sunday and went on the bridge but there was no traffic and when I finally made it to the bridge there were 2 large excavators blocking the bridge on either side. Demolition had not occurred yet. Not sure what they are going to do, but the bridge does look to be a bit in disrepair. If I can find a link on the State website as to this project and anticipated completion date as well as what they are going to do, I may update this notice.

February 2017

Just letting everyone know this is back up. I rode it on Sunday and all signage has been pulled and it appears the project is complete. Thanks!!!
