Can TopShelf run a service in and app domain with shadowcopy mode so it would be easier to implement auto update of dlls?

Nope. You need to shutdown the service to copy stuff over, then start the service. Currently no way around that. Automation takes the pain away.

There is work on Rehab (the service update feature) started, but it's a long way out. Things like Octopus Deploy and such get the job done nicely so I sort of stopped working on it.

Topshelf.Rehab is on nuget and also in the Topshelf source tree, even the sample is there, which is quite confusing.

It should not be visible on NuGet, it was hidden after being accidentally pushed one time.
