TEA (Tiddler Emergency Action) tiddler

Here at the mad coding labatory, tiddler experiments often go wrong, terribly wrong ><

This tiddler can help with troublesome tiddlers that you cannot directly access normally or cannot open or have displayed in the story river due to interference with the proper operation of your wiki (some of the various reasons).  It allows for remote manipulation of the tiddler from this utility tiddler in 3 ways:

1) neutralize a tiddler-- disable a tiddler's coding, in-tiddler styling, wikitext/macros/widgets
2) open a tiddler in edit mode (yes we have disabled normal edit intitiation a few times)
3) delete a tiddler

The utility has confirmation mechanisms to help you make sure you're dealing with the desired tiddler-- use with caution-- possibly import into a test wiki first to get acquanted with the utility.

The attached json file has the utility tiddler (#FIREAX tiddler (delete, edit tiddlers)) and 3 templates ($:/.fireax/whatis91 template, $:/.fireax/whatis92 template, $:/.fireax/whatis93 template) used for the text entry fields.  Once used it will created 3 temp tiddlers ($:/temp/whatis91, $:/temp/whatis92, $:/temp/whatis93)

** you will find those templates in the "More" tab, explorer in a directory called fireax which I believe is unique enough to avoid matching what someone may already have

I know I really need to learn the plugin creation process but you would understand-- I'm running out of time to finish my project and learning the coding to effect it is taking most of my time and it takes so long to do anything on the computer any more : (

Great Emergency kit!
Q: Do you recommend to add this kit to any wiki or only install when an emergency case is occurred? Does they work in safe mode?
The Book by Luis has a chapter of few pages instruct how to create a simple plugin!
It may help for busy people like you!

 I installed the kit on tiddlywiki.com

the list run out of table!

Need a small fix

Hi Gloom,

You are doing amazing work. You show us, share and explain. I hope you know, that you are such an inspiration on more levels.
Never mind plugin creation, you must use your time for the work you have to do and enjoy.
It must be very frustrating to constantly find new ways to do things due to changes in the workings of your necessary system theme.

You are great at finding way around obstacles. That is important and not something anyone can get from a plugin.

Nice one.

Its dealing with logic failure? Right?

We might supplement it with re-parsing for literal code breakdown where an Violent Unknown Event degrades the save to chaos. Note on the VUE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kG4ukbx97Vw

I have to say that TW is very robust. It is quite hard to ruin it.

@TT

yes, but probably wouldn't help with saving issues unless its a corrective edit to the save filter
I believe the core SafeMode function can handle coding/wikitext/filter logic disasters for startup issues while nonstartup issues can be handled by nuetralizing problem tiddlers by setting them to type:plain text for corrective editing

It is but I have invoked JS error popups, browser freezes before-- usually reckless filter logic

Only one catastrophe-- wiki meltdown on save and I believe that was a browser issue

@Mohammad

I couldn't find the emergency kit in TWScripts to see how you fixed the overflow issue-- many thanks for noticing it-- I hadn't used the utility on a tiddler that had such a long list field as HelloThere so I never noticed the overfow

@Birthe

special thanks-- you wouldn't know, but your words came at a critical time-- I was first confused because I didn't realize I made the statement in the original post which was a while ago

It must be very frustrating to constantly find new ways to do things due to changes in the workings of your necessary system theme.

I just discovered Mozilla enabled linear-gradient backgrounds and "broke" their own system browser theme which has made some website unreadable unless I use a screen reader-- got to go fill a bug report now-- I spend way too much time making and keeping my computer and programs so I can use them without having to use a screen reader *grumble*

You are great at finding way around obstacles. That is important and not something anyone can get from a plugin.

hopefully you'll be pleased what I have done when I post the video of my personal wiki in action-- this point in Life I need achievement to prove to myself that it is worthwhile
