All of a sudden I can't seem to import anything from tiddlytools.com.

I thought it might be one of the plugins I added, so I tried it with an empty.html, but to no avail. I've tried various versions of the address (http://www.tiddlytools.com/, tiddlytools.com, www.tiddlytools.com) and nothing works. I click on "open", and it says its loading the list, but the list never comes up.

Anyone else seen this?

Thanks,
Mark

Mixed results here - TW 2.6.5, FF 15 + TiddlyFox plugin, Arch Linux.

If I try to import tiddlers from any of the following three locations
into a vanilla TW (tested tiddlytools, abego-software and
qmowcy2.tiddlyspace.com), the TW just hangs with a message "Opening the
workspace".

If, however, I try to import tiddlers from those three locations into a
pre-existing TW which has them set up as pre-defined feeds, everything
works OK.

I'm on FF 15 too. Maybe they changed something in it (again!!) to make us safer from ourselves. Its always doing these updates without asking.

How do you set up the feed?

Thanks!

When I originally imported plugins from them, I ticked the box marked
'Save the details of this server in a 'systemServer' tiddler called: '

How you set up the feed otherwise, I don't know, sorry :-(

That's a clever solution. But it does seem that TW is becoming hedged around making it less and less portable.

Maybe there could be a java stub -- like there is for saving -- that will allow these advanced features to continue working on all browsers.

Of course, the other day there was an NPR report that Java has some serious security leaks.

What I really want is the ability to tell the browser, "Go ahead and grant whatever privileges are necessary for this particular local web page."

Most if not all browsers have enhanced security features that generate several issues with TW. One of these issues is importing, other is uploading to Tiddlyspot.

I get around these issues by installing an old portable version of FF 3.6 than may be downloaded from:

As this version does not have the enhanced security features, I use the above version only for TW and nothing else.
