Hello,

I am using a TiddlyWiki with the BasicsPackage. Is there a defined or
even easy way to update the plugins belonging to this package?

In general it does not seem easy to find the set of plugins needed for
a certain function. E.g. the QuickEdit plugin consists of many
tiddlers. If I would like to import these from http://www.tiddlytools.com/#QuickEditPlugin
I would have to select them based on the tag.

But not all "packages" have such a tag.

Also, the import function does not allow for tag based selection.

How does everybody else do this?

With best regards
Bbb

I use Eric's ImportPlugin bookmarklet:
http://tiddlytools.com/#InstantBookmarklets

It's also available as a standard plugin http://www.tiddlytools.com/#ImportTiddlersPlugin

If it doesn't work in FF then try Chrome or Safari....

Most of the time I update plugins manually, because when I check if a
plugin has been updated (visit the link) I might as well copy/paste
the source content into my own plugin tiddler..

Hello Måns,

it's a mess:
  • The ImportTiddlersPlugin seems to interfere with the new core code, so I fell back to the default implementation not allowing selection based on tags.
  • Plugin dependencies or even dependencies to tweaks are not documented. Some plugins simply do not work while they work in other TiddlyWikis in the same browser.
  • Updating the core code of an empty TiddlyTools Wiki fails, so starting with a complete set of plugins from TiddlyTools blocks upgrades to newer TiddlyWiki core code. I had to import the whole TiddlyTools template into the updated core. (leaving me with some defects)

So I will have to live with that situation. After upgrading a plugin things may fail to work. So the recommendation is to test before upgrading the next plugin. I am glad, there are backups.

Thanks for your support

Björn
