Hi,

Another problem with Firefox (16.0.1, with TiddlyFox).
I didn't pay attention until now but I've noticed that the backups contain strange characters :
in place of non ASCII characters.

I cannot save with Chrome so I don't know if it's the same.

Hi,

Well, as a non frequent user of Chrome I forgot to put a copy of tiddlyjar in the folder when I moved my TW ...
Now it's done and saving works but I have the same problem in Chrome with strange in the backup files.

There is a known issue with mangled international characters in backup pathnames with TiddlyFox, but it sounds like you've got something different going on. Do you get the same behaviour with a new empty.html from tiddlywiki.com?

Best wishes

Jeremy

Hi Jeremy,

I've downloaded a fresh empty.html from tiddlywiki.com.
Same problem.
I click on new tiddler and enter some é,ç,à, ... in the title and in the text.
When I click done the message box appears with "Main Tiddlywiki file saved Backup saved".
If I open the backup file, my new tiddler isn't here.
I go back to the main file and click save changes.
This time the backup is fine because it contains my new tiddler, but corrupted as the non ascii characters are replaced by .

Hi,

I was wondering whether this problem is only occurring to me ...
In fact I'd like to use Firefox with my TWs as it is my default browser. And I happen to do that.
But on a few occasions I had to fetch some info from a backup and it's not easy with some strange characters inside.

Tiddlyfox seems great and I say a big thank you to Jeremy for having written it. This is just a reminder for the next version of this firefox plugin ... unless the problem comes from my set-up.
