I would advise using Firefox v3.6x; if you want a more modern Firefox installed, then use the Portable version of 3.6.

@edward,
I'm not exactly sure, since I use FF, but I did see this problem there
too. I did clear all browser cookies _for this site_ only. After a
browser reload it worked again. It's just a guess. I didn't dig
deeper.

@Hans,
The upcoming problem I see with FF3.6 is: It won't get any security
fixes after April 24th [1][2]. The "TW core update", "save to
tiddlyspot", "import to and from file TWs" problems have to be
addressed but using 3.6, for me, isn't an option anymore after April
24th.

Is this a company policy or something? I had no idea they were still doing **any** updates, thought that had stopped a long time ago, but doesn't worry me.

I'm only using FF3.6 for local TW purposes, so I'm not going to worry even five years after they stop with security update, someone would have to go to a lot of trouble to get malware working inside my local TWs, I'm sure there are easier vectors if "they" are after me 8-)

I just had a look at http://www.tiddlywiki.com/ in IE6 on Windows XP
and got the same error.

What has happened is that a fix has been made to TiddlyWiki that
inadvertently broke IE6 compatibility (generally, TiddlyWiki works OK
on IE6 and IE7).

I'll try to investigate more, but for the moment, as others have
suggested, it would be best to try working with another browser or an
older version of TiddlyWiki. (There is an archive of old versions at
http://tiddlywiki.com/archive/)

Best wishes

Jeremy

This was the same error I had posted on earlier.
i.e. a new empty tiddler showed timeline error in IE.
For me, it fails in IE 8.0.7600.16385CO

Older versions would work fine.

I did find an older version to use from the archive, but I
also was able to get Chrome installed that works fine now
for working with Tiddlywiki.

I found as a temporary fix that editing the TabTimeline system tiddler
and changing <<timeline>> to <<timeline "">> seemed to remove the
error in IE7.

This is terrific! Your fix has indeed cleared the problem.
Thanks all for your feedback.
