This happens for me, too.

I don't use my TiddlyWikis in Firefox often, so I had to check to be sure.  Tt first I thought it might be a plugin problem causing the script error, so I disabled all my plugins and reloaded, but I got the same result.  Then, just in case I missed something, I loaded my main TW in safe mode (with "#start:safe%20ImportTiddlersPlugin" added to the end of my file:// URL) and got the same error again.

The current TWClassic Core (v2.6.6) is still attempting to invoke the
FireFox 'enablePrivilege' functions that are now deprecated (as of
FF15). I am currently working on the next release of TWClassic
(v2.7.0), which will attempt to address the problems that FireFox is
causing. You can expect a pre-release version, suitable for testing,
within a few weeks.

If you are having problems using the built-in backstage "upgrade"
process, here's a simple manual procedure that you can use:

1) Download the latest empty.zip from http://www.TiddlyWiki.com and
extract a copy of empty.html
2) Load your existing TW document into the browser
3) Invoke "save changes" to create a backup copy of the current
document
4) Replace the existing TW document's file on disk with a copy of the
latest empty.html
5) Invoke "save changes" again
6) Reload your document

Normally, when "save changes" is triggered, the TWCore code is first
read in from the existing file, and then the current tiddlers (as
loaded in the browser) are merged in, and the combined content is
saved back to the file.

When you invoke "save changes" in step (3), it simply creates a backup
copy of the existing document, without altering the TWCore version or
any tiddler content. This ensures that your current document is
safely preserved in a backup file, regardless of any further actions
you perform.

Then, in step (4), you manually *replace* the existing TW file on disk
with a copy of the latest empty.html, so that in step (5), the "save
changes" process actually reads in the *updated* TWCore code from the
empty.html, and merges it with your existing tiddler content and saves
that combination back to the file, resulting in an upgraded document.

When you are finished, you will have two backup files. The first
backup will be your old version of the document. The second backup
file will be an exact copy of the empty.html you used for the upgrade,
and can be safely discarded.

enjoy,

Hi Calvino,

I've been reporting the same problem for several weeks. It doesn't seem to get much traction. Probably only impacts those of us who are unlucky enough to be switching to FF 15 at the same time they need to populate a new TW.

My work-around is to load Eric's import plugin tool (you'll probably have to do this by hand).

Then save the file from which you wish to import to your local hard drive.

Then use Eric's import tool to pull in the plugins or tiddlers that you want.

For some reason, the back-stage import tool can't import -- even locally. But Eric's still can import LOCALLY. Even it can't import from the tiddlytools site or anywhere else.

It seems that the Mozilla people are bound and determined to break TW for good.

Hi,
I hope this isn't a duplicate question...

I'm runnng FF 15 and have installed TiddlyFox.
My tw's are about version 2.4

The TiddlyFox solved the save problem, but, I cannot import tiddlers from local disk or remote server without getting a UniversalXPConnect error:

"A script from "file://" was denied UniversalXPConnect privileges"

Do I need a new version of ImportTiddlersPlugin, or to hand hack the prefs.js file, or ... has anyone else had this problem?

By the way, thanks Jeremy and Eric for the awesome long term work !

Thanks, Mark,

I tried this solution, but to no avail:  I'm still getting the UnivesalXPConnect error with Eric's ImportTiddlersPlugin.  My workaround is to edit the prefs.js file by hand to give specific permissions to the tiddlywiki file I want to import into.  That works.

Meanwhile, I'm holding out for Erics Classic 2.7 version :)

Is this plugin supposed to enable importing from the web? Or is that known to be broken?

When I attempt to load from tiddlytools.com with TiddlyFileImportr, it just sits there. Nothing appears to be happening, and I am not presented with a list of importable tiddlers.

I haven't tried to import from a local file. It might work, but so does Eric's file importer.

Thanks,
Mark
