Has anyone come across this problem before?  The example popup opens an inch or so from the click, but sometimes they open far downscreen, i.e. you have to scroll down to find it.

Hi Dave,
I have no idea about the popup, but I know, how you can fix the
quickopentag CSS that causes the tags tab to be 2 lines per entry.

Change

#sidebarTabs .tabContents li a {
display: block;
}

to

#sidebarTabs .tabContents li a {
display: inline-block;
}

Thanks for that PMario, I think I probably screwed that up attempting to incorporate some of Tobias's stuff into it.

I don't suppose you know how to get the list but up to the right of the scroller thingie where it belongs?

I'm sorry, but I don't understand this question.

usually the timeline list of Tiddlers is to the right of the tabs that say "Tags Latest Following Followers etc...", but for some reason on mine, the list ("app Ascension default etc...") starts below, not to the right.

Your public timeline looks just fine to me. May be there is a private
tiddler that causes some trouble.
If you log out, you'll see, what I can see :)

Weird, when I sign out its still the same.  This is what I see (with the red arrow showing where the timeline list should be)

Just as an Info somewhere in StyleSheetTiddlySpace there is:

#sidebarTabs .tabsetWrapper .tabContents {
... stuff
width: 242px;
... stuff
}

If you add the following line to your first tweaks tiddler:

#sidebarTabs .tabsetWrapper .tabContents {
width: 234px;
}

I did test it with the Chromium dev tools. [F12] it worked there but
you may change the width to your needs.
Post back, if it worked.

Thank you, yes that worked.

regarding the popup problem I'll have to start playing with all the references to "popup" in StyleSheetTiddlySpace and see what happens

I appreciate your time and help!!

I think, there is a problem with the NestedSlidersPlugin position
calculation. You use Version 2.4.2 latest is 2.4.9. [1] May be it is
allready fixed.

Good idea, but alas, didn't work :-(

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with StyleSheetTiddlySpace because when I remove the "system-theme" from the included spaces list the problem goes away (but then so does the cool looking theme).

I couldn't find anything obvious to a non programmer among the 16 or so references to the word "popup", so I'll just start commenting out portions of it and see what happens.  My other idea was to figure out how to switch themes (there must be a way) and then compare this theme with others that don't create the problem.

I'll post the answer if I find it for others' future reference.

Yea,
The plugin was developed to be used with vanilla TiddlyWiki. So I
think, there is something wrong with the "top / left" pupup
calculation.
@eric
can you jump in?

@Dave The element of the NestedSlider popups should be floatingPanel, not "popup"~

Could Eric or someone who may have a clue check the source of NestedSliderPlugin?

I hacked the nestedSlidersPlugin a little by adding the 2 lines at the end in this part of it:

// adjust floating panel position based on button position
...
if (place.style.position!="relative") {
var left=findPosX(btn);
var top=findPosY(btn)+btn.offsetHeight;
var p=place; while (p && !hasClass(p,'floatingPanel')) p=p.parentNode;
if (p) { left-=findPosX(p); top-=findPosY(p); }
if (left+panelWidth>rightEdge) left=rightEdge-panelWidth;
if (left<0) left=0;
                        var mod=top/1.005;
top=top-mod+90;
}

which gets the floating panel in the ball park near the button regardless of how many other tiddlers are open now, except for it doesn't work well when the button is low down within the tiddler (as opposed to low in the page)

I'll keep looking - maybe there's a variable that indicates the height of the current tiddler I can throw into the formula...
