After the morning of Bluegill fishing with the girls, John Bilotta and I explored the falling tide along Roosevelt Island. On the South side of the island under the Roosevelt (I-66) Bridge, I got a fly down into the current seam and caught this fish. It did require wading across some very soft bottom and putting out a very long cast with the skagit line to reach the current, but the fish were there. One thing is for sure in this river, if you find bait and concentrated tidal current, you will find the Stripers. I didn't expect much in the bright sun, but the bridge provided a nice shadow line. This would be a good spot for you 'yakkers to explore as there is some pretty strong tidal current flowing between the bridge abutments.
