Spending 10 days on the beach in Melbourne Florida. No wind in the
mornings and hardly any waves. In addition to these (lookdown, permit,
spanish mackerel) having some fun with 18 in - 20 in blues

That lookdown looks like it got hit by a bird. They are strange fish to pull in. The second one looked like a pompano.

Bill,

Nice fish. The 2nd image isn't a permit though - it's called a Palometa.
Very similar to permit, but in the same family (same genus too!), but the
vertical bars on the side of the fish's body are a dead giveaway.

Hope you wore your sunblock =)

That first fish is an Atlantic Moonfish, not a Lookdown, it's a rarer fish though so well done!
