I am about ready to head out for 12 days on the Chesapeake Bay aboard my sailboat.  I carry a dingy with small outboard and I will often fish in the evenings when I anchor.

What is biting right now out in the Chesapeake Bay?  What are your go to flies when you are fishing in the Bay?

I will probably head to Solomons Island, then north to Annapolis, down to San Domingo Creek, Back to Solomons, maybe over to Tangier or Smith Island, and then start heading back up the Potomac River.

As you head north, check around the Gas Docks and Power Plant for bird activity.

White perch will start moving into the shallows....use small clousers, streamers around rocks, grass and under docks. They take hard and are delicious. Fish the rocks at the radio towers at the mouth of the Severn (NE)

Bluefish are in but they destroy most flies. You will see them on the feed as they devour silversides. Stripers are there as well, sinking lines with streamers, clouser. Get under and around the blues.

Croaker are on the bottom. Hard to catch on a fly but it can be done.

Since you are going to San Domingo Creek, make a stop at Black Walnut Point to see if the Speckeled trout have arrived.

Good luck!

Thanks Ernie.  We shall see how it goes.  It is a freakish high tide because there has been a strong North East Wind blowing for a while.  This rain will stir stuff up to.  I hope to get some fishing in as I go along.
